The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 131 calls for service in the last 24 hours.
Nine people were arrested.
Wallaceburg Man Arrested for Breaching Condition – CK22055296 – Yesterday morning, shortly after 7:00 AM Police were called to the Wallaceburg Hospital in regards to a male who is not allowed on the property except for medical reasons. It was determined that the male was not there seeking medical help and was refusing to leave. Officers attended and arrested the man for failing to comply with his release order. He was transported to CKPS HQ and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Warrant – CK22055298 – Yesterday morning, just before 8:00 AM, the Windsor Police Service contacted CKPS, informing them that they had a male in custody that was currently wanted by Chatham-Kent Police. An officer attended the Windsor Police station and arrested 29 year old Josh McGraw for Theft of a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000. He was released with a future court date of January 9, 2023.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court – CK22055301 – Yesterday at approximately 9:00 AM Lakeshore OPP notified CKPS that they had a male in custody that was currently wanted by Chatham-Kent Police. An officer attended the Lakeshore OPP detachment and arrested 22 year old Kenneth McCaig of Wallaceburg. He was released with a future court date of January 9, 2023.
Woman Arrested For Theft – CK22055323 – Yesterday afternoon, just before 1:00 PM Police were called to the Walmart in Chatham in regards to a shoplifting complaint. Walmart security reported that a woman had just walked out of the store with a full cat of items and had since fled in a vehicle. As officers were responding, the vehicle was intercepted and stopped on Third St. The female, Melanie Hates of Chatham, was arrested and charged with Theft and Possession Under $5000. She was also found to be driving with a suspended license and was charged with that as well. She was released from custody with a future court date of December 19, 2022.
Collision Leads to Impaired Charge – CK22055389 – Yesterday evening, at approximately 8:30PM, Police were called to the area of Young St in Tilbury in regards to a driver that had hit a parked vehicle on the opposite side of the road. Upon Police arrival, the suspect vehicle was located and found to have hit the parked vehicle head on. The driver was still on scene and through investigation was arrested for Impaired Driving. The accused was taken to hospital with minor injuries and there he provided 2 breath samples resulting in further charges. Johan Fast of Tilbury was charged with Impaired Operation and over 80. He was released with a future court date of December 12, 2022.
Traffic Stop leads to Impaired Charge – CK22055403 – Last night, just before 11:00 PM, officers had just completed a RIDE program in Chatham and were on their way back to the station. While doing so they observed a vehicle driving erratically on Inshes Ave in Chatham. The vehicle pulled into a driveway and officers stopped to speak with the driver. Through investigation, officers formed grounds to arrest the driver for impaired driving. The accused was transported to CKPS HQ where she was to provide breath samples, however, refused to do so.
Hillary Foss of Chatham was charged with Impaired Operation and Refusal to Provide breath samples. She was later released with a future court date of December 12, 2022.
Traffic Stop leads to Over 80 Charge – Early this morning, just after 1:00 AM officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Vanier Dr in Chatham. Through investigation, officers suspected that that driver was under the influence of alcohol and therefore completed a roadside breath test which resulted in a Fail. The driver, Samira Chtourou of Chatham, was arrested for over 80 and brought to the OPP station for further breath tests. She was released with a future court date of December 12, 2022.
