The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 127 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Fraud CK22057666
At 9:34 a.m., police responded to Victoria Avenue in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity. Two men, who had no authority to be on the property, were captured on surveillance video walking around the building.
Police arrived and located two men on Elizabeth Avenue. One man was wanted in a theft and fraud investigation reported on December 4, 2022.
The 21-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released with a future court date.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK22057685
At 1:22 p.m., police located the man on Murray Street in Chatham and learned he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for bail violations.
The 32-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Arson CK22057754
At 10:38 p.m., emergency crews responded to a dumpster fire on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
Through witness accounts, police learned the woman intentionally set the dumpster on fire.
The 25-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with arson. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK22057782
At 4:28 a.m., police responded to suspicious activity in the parking lot of the Municipal building on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
The police arrived and located a man. The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
The 37-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was held pending a bail hearing.
