Hockey has and will always be a part of my life. From the many successful athletes to the supporters, hockey is one of the things that brings our community together.
Hockey has allowed me to accomplish many goals, one being to play hockey at the University level. After graduating high school, I moved to Alberta and played at the Banff Hockey Academy for a season. I then received a four-year NCAA hockey scholarship with Finlandia University in Michigan. I played the sport I love, while receiving an education in Criminal Justice and History. This opportunity also allowed me to travel the world to play hockey. A girl’s dream !!
Now that I am back ‘home’ I continue to play hockey throughout the winter in local women’s leagues and tournaments. In the summer, you will find me running, swimming, biking, golfing, basically, anywhere outside. My favourite place to be is by the water where I grew up fishing with my family, sitting on docks and relaxing on porches.
My hockey career taught me important life lessons like being a teammate, leadership, determination, and integrity. Skills that I look forward in sharing by coaching and giving back to the sport that has given so much to me. I’m also looking forward to giving back to our community as a police officer and through volunteering.
