Often times, police officers are set apart, just by the nature of their job. We are present in the community during the most difficult times but also there to share the joys. What people often fail to see is that we are just like you.
I have been blessed to serve and protect our community for almost 30 years, however my life and career came to sudden halt eight years ago, when I suffered a stroke. It was through these darkest of times, in hospital and during recovery, that my strength and faith were challenged. But by the grace of God, I returned to work 18 months later.
I am currently assigned to our Major Crime Unit, where I investigate and assist families struggling with child abuse incidents.
I’ve learned throughout my career, that tending to God’s earth is what gives me peace in this sometimes chaotic world. So, if you see a man planting flowers around police headquarters, it’s me. If you find yourself looking at the man digging in the garden at Praise Fellowship Church, that’s me. Gardening is my passion and I love creating beauty with flowers and landscape that everyone in the community can enjoy.
I am just like you.
