The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 108 calls for service in the last 24 hours.
Five people were arrested.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant – CK22054356 – Yesterday afternoon, just before 2:00PM, Police attended the area of Keil Dr in regards to a person welfare check. Police located the man who was in no need of assistance. The 26-year-old Chatham man also had an outstanding warrant for assault. He was arrested and later released with a future court date of December 12, 2022.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court – CK22054400 – Last night, just after 8:00PM Police were called to the area of the hospital on Grand Ave to check on the wellbeing of a male party. Police located the man and through investigation, it was revealed that he had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. Tyler Sands of no fixed address was arrested and later released with a new court date of December 12, 2022.
Break and Enter Leads to Multiple Charges – CK22054422 – Last night, at approximately 1:54AM Police received a call from an alarm company advising that a business on Grand Ave West had multiple alarm hits in their storage trailers. Upon Police arrival, an officer observed a male suspect moving pallets from behind a storage trailer. As the suspect began to walk away, he was met by the officer and placed under arrest. While doing so, the officer observed another suspect running from the scene. Officers tracked the second suspect to a house under renovation on Lark St. The suspect was found hiding underneath and was arrested as well.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects utilized a cordless grinder to cut the locks off of four storage trailers and had removed approximately $10,000 worth of items. The suspects had a rented U-Haul truck parked close by that they were going to utilize to remove the stolen property.
Ryan Briden and Austin Holland both from Windsor have been charged with 4 counts of Break and Enter, Possession of break in instruments, 2 counts of Theft Over $5000 and Possession Over $5000. Both were released with a court date of December 12, 2022.
