The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 125 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Ten people were arrested.
Man Charged with Domestic Related Assault CK16036728
On the 29th of October, 2016 just before midnight police responded to a request for assistance in the city of Tilbury. Police were advised that a male party and his wife had a verbal argument which resulted in the male assaulting his wife outside their home.
As a result the 57 year-old Tilbury man has been arrested for domestic related assault. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Weapons Offences CK16036745
On the 30th of October, 2016 shortly after 2:00 am police responded to a weapons call in the city of Chatham. A 32 year-old Chatham male entered into a dispute with a group of patrons at a nightclub and brandished a knife in their presence. Police responded to the establishment where the male party was taken into custody while in possession of his knife. There were no injuries to anyone present as a result of the knife.
The 32 year-old male was arrested and charged by police for a weapons related offence and released from custody with a future court date.
Man Charged with Weapons Offences and Failing to Comply CK16036660
On the 29th of October, 2016 shortly after 2:00 pm police responded to an address on Gray Street in Chatham in response to information of weapons offences. Police had been advised that a male party with a weapons prohibition was in possession of a firearm.
Police located an over/under .22 calibre rifle in the possession of a 56 year-old Chatham male. He was arrested for several firearms related offences as well as failure to comply and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Male Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK16036733
On the 30th of October, 2016 at 1:10 am police responded to a request for assistance in the area of Lorne Ave in Chatham. Police arrived on scene and located an intoxicated male sleeping on a lawn. When police began to deal with the male he became combative and it was determined that the male was unable to care for himself. He was taken into custody for his own safety.
The 18 year old male has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was released upon being sober.
Female Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK16036749
On the 30th of October, 2016 shortly before 3:00 am police responded to an intoxicated female in the area of Richmond Street in Chatham. While dealing with the female police determined that she was unable to care for herself. She was taken into custody for her own safety.
The 25 year old female has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place. She was released upon being sober.
