The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 129 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Stunt Driving
At 3:15 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Grand River Line in Dover Township after observing a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle registered 118 km/hour in a 60 km/hour zone.
The 58-year-old Chatham woman received a summons to court and a 30-day license suspension. Her vehicle was towed and impounded for 14 days.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK22058762
At 6:54 p.m., the woman attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned herself in to the police.
On December 16, 2022, the woman was identified via surveillance video in a theft investigation in Tilbury.
The 20-year-old Chatham woman was charged with two counts of theft and two counts of possession of the stolen property. She was released with conditions and a future court date of January 16, 2023.
Man Arrested on DNA Warrant CK22058794
At 10:29 p.m., police responded to Wallace Street in Wallaceburg for suspicious activity.
Upon arrival, police located the man and confirmed he was wanted for failing to attend court.
The 47-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. The warrant was fulfilled, and he was released unconditionally.
