The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 181 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Ten people were arrested.
Male Arrested for Impaired Driving – CK22056693
Yesterday afternoon police received a call to a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg regarding an intoxicated male who was refused service. The male left prior to police arrival but was located shortly after driving in the area of Baseline Road. Through investigation the officer believed the male driver was driving while impaired by alcohol. The male was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for breath tests. The 22-year old male of Wallaceburg was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. The Wallaceburg resident was held pending a bail hearing.
Male and Female Arrested for Bail Violations – CK22056702/CK22056706
In relation to the above incident the male was found to be breaching several conditions on his release order including not to have any contact or communication with a female that was found to be with him at the time of the incident. The 22-year old male was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Failing to Comply with his Release Order and the 18-year old female that was found to be with him was charged with Party to the Offence of Failing to Comply with Release Order. The male and female were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking. The male was held pending a bail hearing and the female was later released with a future court date of January 9, 2022.
Two Females Arrested on Outstanding Warrants – CK22056720/CK22056721
Yesterday afternoon an officer on general patrol in the area of Park Street in Chatham conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle where two female occupants were found to be wanted on warrants. A 45-year old female wanted on a warrant for Failing to Attend Court and 2 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking was arrested, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and held pending a bail hearing. A 29-year old female wanted on a warrant for Failing to Comply with Probation and Theft and Possession Under $5000 was arrested, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and later released with a future court date.
Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant – CK22056738
Yesterday afternoon police responded to a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg as it was being reported that a male who was known to be wanted on a warrant for 2 counts of uttering threats, weapons dangerous and assault with a weapon was observed walking into the business. Police attended the business and located the male. The 33-year old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and held pending a bail hearing.
Male Arrested on Domestic Charges – CK22056754
Yesterday evening police responded to a residence on Westcourt Blvd in Wallaceburg as it was being reported that there was a male at the residence known to be on conditions not to be there or to associate with the home owner. The male had fled the area on foot prior to police arrival. The 38-year old male was later located and arrested for Assault and 2 counts of Failing to Comply with his Release Order. The male was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and held pending a bail hearing.
Male Arrested for being in Possession of Stolen Vehicle – CK22056780
Last night an officer on general patrol in the area of Delaware Avenue in Chatham located an occupied stolen vehicle. The 32-year old male in the vehicle was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 and 3 counts of Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Order. The male was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and held pending a bail hearing.
Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant – CK22056797
Last night an officer on general patrol in Wheatley attended a residence in the area of Julian Street and located a female there who was known to be wanted on a warrant for Failing to Attend Court. The 38-year old female was arrested on the strength of the warrant and released with a future court date.
