The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 132 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK23007331
At 11:41 p.m., police attended Colborne Street in Chatham for a disturbance.
Upon attending the residence, police located the man. Through investigation, the police learned the woman had been released by the court not to communicate with the man. The man was bound by several release orders not to communicate with the woman.
The 42- year-old Chatham woman left before police arrived, and a warrant has been sought for her arrest.
The 49-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply with a recognizance and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Youth Arrested for Threats CK23007373
At 4:46 p.m., police responded to a weapons investigation on Park Avenue West in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned an altercation occurred between a group of teenagers. During the argument, the female youth threatened to shoot another and motioned to have a weapon in her sleeve.
The 15-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and charged with uttering threats. She was transported to police headquarter and released with conditions and a future court date.
Man And Woman Arrested CK23007409
At 10:55 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.
The woman had left the address in her vehicle but returned while police were on the scene. Officers believed the woman to be driving while under the influence of alcohol, and she was arrested. The woman was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
Through investigation, police learned an altercation occurred between the man and woman. The argument escalated when the man assaulted the woman.
The 43-year-old Chatham woman was charged with operation of a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. She was released with conditions and a future court date of March 27, 2023.
At 3:06 a.m., police located the man, and he was arrested.
The 52-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault. The man was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of March 20, 2023.
