The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 157 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested, and three were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK23005445
At 1:56 p.m., police responded to Canada Post on Wellington Street in Wallaceburg for an unwanted person.
Police arrived and located the man a short distance away. Police confirmed he was on numerous release orders with a condition not to attend that address. The man was arrested.
48-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.
Man arrested for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK23005502
At 8:45 p.m., police responded to King Street West in Chatham for a well-being check on a man observed lying on the ground.
Police attended and found the man extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
The 43-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was held under sober.
Police Execute Search Warrant
On the evening of January 31, 2023, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section, with the assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act Search Warrant on Colborne Street in Chatham as part of a drug investigation.
Approximately $9,000.00 worth of fentanyl, cocaine, hydromorphone, oxycodone, lorazepam and clonazepam were recovered and seized for analysis. Police also seized digital scales, packaging material, cell phones and a large amount of Canadian Currency.
Richard Williams, 57 years of Windsor, was charged with one count of possessing a controlled substance and arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Tawnya Gold, 39 years of Highgate, was charged with seven counts of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Terri Lynn Christian, 38 years of Chatham, was charged with five counts of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with an undertaking.
Samantha Hearns, 30 years of Dover Township, Matt MacFarlane, 30 years of Chatham, Ryan Robinson, 42 years of Chatham, and Jeffrey Graham, 54 years of Chatham, were charged with five counts of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
All seven people were transported to police headquarters. Six were released with conditions and a future court date. Graham made his first appearance and was remanded for a future court date.
