The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 182 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested, and three were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK23002844
In the early morning on January 16, 2023., police responded to a break and enter at Chuck’s Roadhouse Restaurant on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. While investigating, a break-and-enter was discovered at Wimpy’s Diner next door.
Through investigation, police have identified and arrested a man involved in the break and enter. The man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.
The 37-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters and charged with break and enter. He was released with conditions and a future court date of February 13, 2023.

Man Arrested for Breach of Probation CK23002875
At 1:27 p.m., while on general patrol, an officer observed the man walking on James Street in Wallaceburg. The officer learned the man was breaching a Conditional Sentence Order with a house arrest condition.
At 2:04 p.m., the man was located on Westcourt Boulevard and arrested.
The 39-year-old Dresden man was transported to police headquarters, charged with breaching a Conditional Sentence Order, and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Assault CK23002888
At 2:33 p.m., police responded to Indian Creek Road West in Chatham for a disturbance.
Through investigation, police learned the man assaulted his parents and was asked to leave. While outside the residence the man brandished a knife and threatened to harm his parents.
Police arrived and located the man in the driveway. He was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.
The 21-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with uttering threats, assault, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK23002935
At 6:52 p.m., police responded to a traffic complaint on St. Clair Road in Dover Township.
Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Murray Street in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, police determined that the man was impaired by alcohol, and he was arrested. The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
Stephen Haviland, 69 years of Chatham, was charged with a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit. He was released with conditions and a future court date of February 6, 2023.
