The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 157 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested, and five were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK22056158
At 9:57 p.m., emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision on Wheatley Road in Tilbury East Township. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a hydro pole on the east side of the road.
Through investigation, the police believed the man was driving his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
Kyle Pinard, 28 years of Leamington, has been charged with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He has been released with conditions pending a future court date of January 3, 2023.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK22056066
At 10:20 a.m. Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) was contacted by St. Thomas Police Service advising they had a man in custody that was wanted on a CKPS warrant.
The man was transported to CKPS headquarters and has been charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
The 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man was held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK22056163
At 11:13 p.m., CKPS was contacted by Sarnia Police Service advising they had a woman in custody that was wanted on a CKPS warrant.
The woman was transported to CKPS headquarters and has been charged with failing to attend court.
The 31-year-old Sarnia woman was held pending a bail hearing.
Police Execute Search Warrant
Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section, with the assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act Search Warrant in Chatham as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
As a result, approximately $73,500 worth of fentanyl, methamphetamine and oxycodone were recovered and seized for analysis. A large amount of Canadian currency, an airsoft pistol, digital scales, and other drug paraphernalia were also seized.
Through investigation, police learned the man was bound by prohibition orders, release orders and the suspect in a stolen vehicle investigation.
A 44-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of the stolen property, two counts of possessing a restricted weapon contrary to a prohibition order, two counts of failing to comply with a release order and three counts of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
